In an aggressive move to entice dial-up surfers to upgrade to broadband
service, BellSouth announced a deal with Napster yesterday that the Baby
Bell hopes websters will find hard to refuse.

Enterprise content management systems (CMS) do a fine job helping
business users update Web page text and rollback changes when necessary.

3. What to Do if Your E-Mail Is Blocked
------------------------------------------------------------

Without access to e-mail, many of us would cease to function. If you use
e-mail regularly, there is a 100 percent chance that some of the e-mails
you send or receive will be blocked. If such e-mails are not important
to you, then you might not notice. However, if those e-mails are
important, then inconvenience or anguish might result.

4. TiVo Download Deal Heralds Changing TV Landscape

In a trial that could mark the arrival of more widespread on-demand
television programming and further rock the traditional media
advertising industry, digital video recorder maker TiVo said it would
offer original content from the Independent Film Channel (IFC) for
download over the Internet.

6. Buyout Firm Scoops Up Modem Maker U.S. Robotics

Once-dominant modem maker U.S. Robotics has agreed to be acquired by a
private equity firm that indicated it would make its deep pockets
available for expansion and other purchases to help the company find
growth again as Internet access technologies continue to evolve.

7. Huge Computer-Theft Case Gets Conviction
------------------------------------------------------------

Prosecutors said Scott Levine and his company, Snipermail, stole 1.6
billion customer records -- the equivalent of 550 telephone books filled
with names, e-mail and postal addresses. The government did not charge
anyone with identity theft.

8. Agilent Cuts Jobs, Sells Semiconductor Unit

Agilent Technologies said today it would eliminate 1,300 jobs and
jettison several business lines, including its semiconductor unit, as
part of a renewed focus on the company's core measurement operations.

9. China: Intel Inside

The US$200 million Intel Capital fund, earmarked for investment in
technology companies, has completed its first round of investments in
China since its establishment in June by Intel chief executive Paul
Otellini in Beijing.

10. Apple Stock Hits Year-Long High
------------------------------------------------------------

Apple Computer's stock continued to hit fresh highs today as a Piper
Jaffray analyst issued upbeat comments on the company ahead of expected
new product launches and amid anticipation of market-share gains this
year. Shares of the Mac and iPod maker gained US$1.58, or 3.4 percent,
to close at $47.68, a new high.
