3. Windows File System Beta Offered by Microsoft
------------------------------------------------------------

Microsoft has released a beta version of its next-generation Windows
File System (WinFS), which determines how data is structured and stored
on a hard drive. WinFS promises to make it easier for users to find and
organize documents regardless of their physical location.

4. Google Losing Share in China
------------------------------------------------------------

A survey by a Chinese Internet research group has found that Google is
losing market share to its biggest Chinese rival, Web search engine
Baidu.com. The survey, conducted by the Beijing-based China Internet
Network Information Center, reported that Baidu.com boosted its market
share in Beijing by 10.8 percentage points to 52 percent.

5. Conn. Man Admits to Selling Microsoft Source Code
------------------------------------------------------------

A federal indictment filed against William Genovese Jr. in February
2004, charged that, on the day Microsoft learned that significant
portions of its source code were stolen, Genovese posted a message on
his Web site offering the code for sale. He was arrested when an FBI
agent and a Microsoft contractor paid for and downloaded the stolen
source code from his Web site.

6. Statin Drugs Lower Risk of Heart Attack Death
------------------------------------------------------------

Giving a heart attack patient a statin drug right away reduces the
chance he or she will die by 50 percent, U.S. researchers said. Statin
drugs are used to lower cholesterol levels and prevent strokes and heart
attacks long-term.

7. Analyst Hopes Zotob Arrests Slow Malware Activity
------------------------------------------------------------

Although law enforcement officials have arrested two men they believe
wrote the Mytob and Zotob worms, one security expert said there may not
be much enterprises can do to stop such infections from striking again.

8. IBM Creeps Up on Sun in Unix Server Space
------------------------------------------------------------

Have IBM and HP outpaced Sun in the worldwide market for Unix servers?
IDC declared it so on Friday, but Gartner's numbers tell a different
story. Generally speaking, factory revenue in the worldwide server
market grew at 5.6 percent year over year to US$12.2 billion in the
second quarter of 2005.
