Products of the Year
[Cathy Gagne]

Dear readers,

The most popular annual feature that the Storage Media Group runs is the Products of the Year awards. As in past years, the awards vividly reflect the innovation in the storage industry. Each of the winning products will hopefully solve real-world problems and somehow makes your company's data more secure and accessible.

Submit your favorite storage product now at
and help us determine the standouts for the 2005 Products of the Year. The deadline for submission is Oct. 28, 2005. You can be a user who is simply wowed by your experience with a new product, or you can be a vendor who believes the latest version of its product stands out above the rest of the crowd.

The products will fall into these major storage categories: Disk and Disk Subsystems; Networking Equipment; Backup Hardware; Backup and Disaster Recovery Software/Services; and Management Tools. Our magazine and online editorial teams, along with storage industry experts, will judge the entries by looking at six criteria: Innovation; Performance; Ease of integration into existing environments; Manageability; Functionality; and Value. The products you nominate must have been announced and
shipped between Oct. 26, 2004 and Oct. 28, 2005.

Don't delay ... help us pick the leaders now. We appreciate your help.
