IDC SAYS IBM LEADS SERVER MARKET | ServerWatch.com

IBM could boast 31.9 percent of worldwide server systems market
revenue in the second quarter. HP is regaining lost ground. IDC
analyst Matt Eastwood said: "Strength in midrange servers and Unix
high-end servers shows that customers are balancing their scale-out
volume server deployments with scale-up servers to handle
business-processing workloads." We could not have said it better.

STUDENT CONSTRUCTS HAMSTER-POWERED PHONE CHARGER | The Register
Using gears and a turbine, Peter Ash, a 16-year-old Briton, harnessed
the energy of his pet hamster's romps on the exercise wheel to charge
his mobile phone. Two minutes on the wheel for Elvis the hamster was
enough to give the phone 30 minutes of talk time. Peter's next
project is using the kinetic energy in a fried peanut-butter sandwich
to power his phone for the rest of the year.
